Hamelner Pfeifer Tag – Live Stream

Hameln anno 1284: June 26th, 2020 is Pied Piper Day again. It will be the 736th anniversary of the exodus of many young people from Hameln, led by a mysterious Slavic minstrel in June 1284 who, as we know today, must have been a recruiting officer from the Baltic regions. With the music of my CD Hameln anno 1284 the city of Hameln backed up a promo video for their UNESCO application for the Pied Piper Legend as Cultural World Heritage a few years ago. Now in 2020 the time had finally come for a live performance with my program „Hameln anno 1284“ when Corona put made this impossible. However, the program is postponed to next year and the plan for this year is a livestream (without audience) with small music excerpts, filmed from the Rattenfaengersaal in the municipal museum. Additionally Michael Boyer, the current Pied Piper in Hameln, will read from the historical medieval sources about the Piper event. Don’t miss it, there can’t be more Pied Piper than this!

Medieval Echoes: And shortly afterwards I am furthermore pleased to release my new solo CD „Medieval Echoes“ on nemu records on July 1st, 2020.

The CD contains flute meditations between medieval and modern music, framed by some Eastern melodies. On October 1st there will be an official CD release event in the bookstore in Brühl near Cologne with short live performances, background information in favor of the children’s aid organization Plan International, an initiative taking care of the increasingly difficult situation of children, especially girls, in third world countries, not only in Corona times.
